Eastern Shore Regional Nurse (RN/DN) – DDA Nursing Support Services
Locations: Eastern Shore, Maryland (Territory-Based – Upper, Mid, Lower Shore + Float)
Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time Options Available
Position Overview
HAVE Support is seeking four (4) Registered Nurses (RN) or Delegating Nurses (DN) to provide Nursing Support Services (NSS) across Maryland’s Eastern Shore region.
This role is territory-based, designed to ensure consistent, high-quality nursing oversight, reduce travel burden, and maintain DDA compliance across a geographically large service area.
Each nurse will be assigned a primary service region, with one nurse serving in a flex/float capacity to support coverage, urgent needs, and new enrollments.
Territory Assignments
1. Upper Shore Nurse
- Cecil County
- Kent County
- Queen Anne’s County
2. Mid Shore Nurse
- Talbot County
- Caroline County
- Dorchester County
3. Lower Shore Nurse
- Wicomico County
- Worcester County
- Somerset County
4. Float / Regional Support Nurse
- Covers all Eastern Shore counties as needed
- Supports:
- PTO coverage
- Urgent nursing needs
- New participant enrollments
- High-acuity cases
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct initial and ongoing nursing assessments for DDA participants
- Develop and maintain Nursing Care Plans (NCPs)
- Perform delegation and supervision of nursing tasks per COMAR and DDA requirements
- Train and monitor direct support professionals (DSPs) on delegated tasks
- Complete required documentation and compliance tracking
- Participate in Person-Centered Planning (PCP) processes
- Coordinate with:
- Case managers
- Providers
- Families/guardians
- Ensure timely completion of NSS requirements to maintain compliance
Travel Expectations
- Travel is required within assigned territory
- Float nurse will travel across all Eastern Shore regions
- Scheduling is designed to cluster visits geographically and minimize travel burden
- Mileage reimbursement provided
Caseload Expectations
- Average caseload: 25–40 participants
- Caseload adjusted based on acuity and geography
- Float nurse maintains flexible caseload based on organizational needs
Qualifications
- Active Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) license (required)
- Delegating Nurse (DN) certification (preferred or willingness to obtain)
- Experience with:
- Developmental Disabilities (DDA)
- Community-based or home health services
- Strong knowledge of:
- Nursing delegation
- Care planning
- Regulatory compliance
- Ability to work independently across a large geographic area
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
